Men's Golf Third after Round One at Olivet Tournament

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team is in third place after the first round of Olivet College's Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, held Friday at Battle Creek Country Club.

Thunder golfers combined to shoot a seven-over 295. Leading the way was Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia), who fired a one-under 71. The performance was good enough to place the senior in a tie for third after 18 holes of play. Bremigan was one of five golfers overall to finish under par. Calvin College is in first place with a team score of 289 (+1). Calvin's James Van Noord and Owens Community College's Porsche Kitipongpata are tied atop the individual leaderboard with a 68 (-4).

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) finished second among Trine golfers and is tied for 10th overall with a 73. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) finished with a 75, while Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) and Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) each fired 76s.

The Lou Collins Memorial Tournament concludes with round two tomorrow.
