BATTLE CREEK, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team placed second in Olivet College's Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, which concluded Saturday at Battle Creek Country Club.
The Thunder finished at +7 overall for the tournament, carding a team score of 583. The team finished even in round two. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) led all Thunder individuals as he finished with a three-under 141. The senior shot a new personal-best in his collegiate career with a two-under 70 in round two. Bremigan's performance earned him a spot on the all-tournament team and placed him in a tie for third overall. Calvin College took home the team title with a two-under score of 574, paced by individual medalist James Van Noord's 138 (-6).

Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) fired a one-under 71 in round two to finish at +2 overall. His two-round score came in at 146, which was second among Trine golfers and tied for ninth overall in the event.
Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) and Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) each completed the tournament at four-over with scores of 148. Knapp finished at even-par in round two.
Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out Trine's scores with a 151. Turner's average in the tournament was 5.5 strokes better than his season-average last year.
Trine opens the MIAA schedule this Wednesday, Sept. 9 with the MIAA Jamboree at Albion. The round will be hosted at Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
