Men's Golf Places Fourth in Second Jamboree Round

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team placed fourth in the MIAA Jamboree at Olivet, held Tuesday at Bedford Valley Golf Course.

Thunder golfers combined for a team score of 303 (15+) on the day. Senior Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) fired a one-over 73 to lead Trine. The performance was good enough to tie for seventh overall. He carded four birdies and finished with a score two-strokes better than his season average entering today's round. Trine's score on the day dropped the team from second to fourth in the MIAA fall standings. The Thunder have a team score of 614, putting them 13 strokes out of first place. Calvin leads the standings through two rounds.

Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) carded a 76 to tie for 14th. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) and Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) all finished with 77s to round out the team scoring for Trine.

Matt Silver (Columbus Grove, Ohio/Columbus Grove) competed as an individual and fired a 78 to tie for 21st.

MIAA Jamboree play continues Saturday, Sept. 19 as Alma hosts round three at Pine River Country Club. The complete MIAA standings are listed below.
