Men's Golf Third in Alma Jamboree

ALMA, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team placed third in the MIAA Jamboree at Alma, held Saturday at Pine River Country Club.

Thunder golfers combined to card a score of 303 (15+). For the second-consecutive Jamboree round, Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) led the Thunder in scoring. Knapp fired a one-under 71 to tie for second in the round. The senior is now tied with Adrian's Zak Hart for the best score in fall MIAA rounds, with a score of 222 through three rounds. The performance leaves Trine in fourth place in the conference standings, 13-strokes back of Hope for first-place.

Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) played his best round of the MIAA season so far, finishing with a 76. Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) finished just behind with a 77.

Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) fired a 79 to round out Trine's top four. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) finished with an 80, while Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Fenton) competed as an individual and shot a 78.

Trine continues MIAA play Monday with the Jamboree at Kalamazoo. The round will be contested at Kalamazoo Country Club.
