Dwyer Medals as Thunder Place Fourth

KALAMAZOO, Mich.-- Connor Dwyer earned individual medalist honors as the Trine men's golf team placed fourth in the MIAA Jamboree at Kalamazoo, held Monday at Kalamazoo Country Club.

Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) shot a one-under 70 to finish first in the fourth Jamboree round of the fall. The win marked the second time the senior has medaled at a Jamboree round in his Trine career. The round was a new season-low for Dwyer. Paced by Dwyer's effort, the Thunder placed fourth in today's Jamboree with a score of 308. The performance leaves Trine in fourth-place in the fall standings, 16-strokes back of first-place Calvin.

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) carded his best score in an MIAA-round this season with a 73. That performance was good enough for a tie for third, his best finish in a conference event.

Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) and Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out the top four for the Thunder with 83s. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) rounded out team golfers for the Thunder.

Trenton Murphy (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) competed as an individual and finished with an 82.

Trine will host the fifth MIAA Jamboree of the season this Saturday, Sept. 26. The event tees off at 1 p.m. on the links of Zollner Golf Course. The MIAA standings are listed below.
