Dwyer Co-Medalist as Thunder Win Home Jamboree

ANGOLA, Ind.-- Connor Dwyer earned co-medalist honors as the Trine men's golf team won its home MIAA Jamboree, held Saturday on the links of Zollner Golf Course.

Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) fired a two-under 69 to share medalist honors with Calvin College's Ben Van Scoyk. The performance marked the second-straight round Dwyer has finished atop the individual leaderboard. Dwyer birdied three holes and finished even on 14 others to pace Trine. Thunder golfers finished with a score of 287 (3+) to win by five strokes. Trine is now in third place in the MIAA standings, 10 strokes behind first-place Hope.

Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) fired a one-under 70 to finish third. The round was a season-low for the senior. Knapp also notched three birdies on the day.

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) finished with a one-over 72. That performance was good enough to tie for sixth overall. Tevlin tied a season-low with today's performance.

Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) and Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out the Thunder team performers with 76s.

Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Fenton) competed as an individual and finished with a 75 to tie for 13th. Calvin George (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) also competed as an individual.

The MIAA season continues Monday, Sept. 28 with the Jamboree at Calvin. The round will be contested at Watermark Country Club.
