Dwyer Earns MIAA Men's Golfer of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich.-- Trine's Connor Dwyer was named MIAA Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) was a medalist at both MIAA Jamborees this week. The senior won individual medalist honors by posting a one-under 70 in the MIAA Jamboree at Kalamazoo. He followed that performance by shooting a two-under 69 to lead the Thunder to winning the MIAA Jamboree at Trine. Dwyer has now won three MIAA Jamboree rounds in his collegiate career and has five collegiate wins overall.

Dwyer has put himself into position to potentially earn All-MIAA First Team honors this season after earning second-team honors last fall. He currently ranks sixth in the conference in individual scoring, averaging a 75 through the first five Jamboree rounds. Overall, the senior is averaging a career-best score of 74.4 per round this year.

Paced by Dwyer, the Thunder were able to move into third-place in the MIAA standings following Saturday's Jamboree win. Trine sat just 10 strokes out of first place entering today's round hosted by Calvin.

Trine is currently playing the sixth Jamboree round at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich. Results are expected to be available early this evening.
