Men's Golf Places Fourth in Adrian Jamboree

ADRIAN, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team placed fourth in the MIAA Jamboree at Adrian, contested Saturday at Lenawee Country Club.

The Thunder combined for a team score of 327 (43+). The performance leaves Trine in third place in the MIAA standings entering the final round of conference play this Tuesday. Leading the way for the Thunder was Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), who fired a six-over 78 to finish in a tie for sixth. This is the fourth-straight round Dwyer has led the team in scoring. He entered today's round third in the conference in scoring.

Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) finished one stroke behind with a 79 to tie for 10th. Knapp and Dwyer have each put themselves in a favorable position to earn all-conference honors with a strong finish to the fall season.

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) carded an 83 to finish third among Thunder golfers. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) rounded out Trine's top four with an 87.

Dillon Kreutzer (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) competed as an individual and carded an 86. Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out the team competitors for Trine.

The final round of the MIAA season will be hosted by Hope this Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive, Mich. The MIAA champion will be crowned following the round. The top four teams will earn the chance to compete for an automatic-qualifying bid to the national championships in the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring.
