Men's Golf Sixth After First Round of Olivet Invitational

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.—The Trine men's golf team sits in sixth place after day one of Olivet College's Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, held Friday at the Battle Creek Country Club.

The Thunder fielded a lineup of freshmen for its first tournament of the season. The rookies combined to shoot 18 over at 306. Trine was led by Grant Brettnacher (Brookton, Ind./Harrison), who sits in a tie for 19th place at three over.

Kalamazoo College holds the lead at two over-290 and is led by Nick Ludka at one under-71.

Joe LeSueur (Northfield Center, Ohio/Trinity) is tied for 26th place at four over-76. Nick Knowlton (Bridgman, Mich./Bridgman) shot 77, while Grant McKay(Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) recorded 78 shots. Todd Mieske (Owosso, Mich./Owosso) rounded out play with an 82.

Round two of the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament concludes tomorrow.
