Grant Brettnacher Earns Second MIAA Men’s Golfer of the Week Honor

FREELAND, Mich.—Trine men's golf freshman Grant Brettnacher has earned his second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's golf player of the week honor the conference announced Monday.

Brettnacher (Brookton, Ind./Harrison) tied for the top medalist spot at the MIAA Jamboree at Calvin last week shooting one under-71. It was the second time he had won or tied for first at a MIAA event this fall. Brettnacher helped lead Trine to a fourth place team finish eight shots behind first place Hope.

The Thunder freshman paired up with classmate Todd Mieske (Owosso, Mich./Owosso) on Saturday afternoon to help Trine to a second place finish at the Ken Venturi Invitational. The duo combined to shoot 68.

Brettnacher enters the weekend ranked fifth in the MIAA with an average of 73.3 at jamborees this season.

Trine will be back in action this weekend when it travels to the Battle Creek Country Club for the MIAA Championship.
