Men's Golf Sits in Sixth After Day One of MIAA Fall Finish

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.—The Trine men's golf team sits in sixth place after day one of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Fall Finish on Friday afternoon.

The Thunder combined to shoot 34 over-322. Calvin College holds the first place spot shooting nine over-297. Hope College is one shot behind them at 10 over-298.

Trine's Nick Knowlton (Bridgman, Mich./Bridgman) turned in the best round for the Thunder at seven over-79. Grant McKay (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado)  finished one shot back of Knowlton to tie for 26 at eight over-80. Grant Brettnacher (Brookton, Ind./Harrison) was nine over-81, while Joe LeSueur (Northfield Center, Ohio/Trinity) shot 10 over-82. Grant Knockle III (Jackson, Mich./Lumen Christi) finished the day at 12 over-84.

Calvin's John Van Noord and Hope's Noah Weigle turned in the best score out of the field at two under-70.

Play will wrap up at the Battle Creek Country Club on Saturday.
