DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Trine men's golf team finished fifth at the Defiance Invitational held today at Eagle Rock Golf Club with a score of 311.
Heidelberg University (Ohio) finished at the top of the leaderboard with a team score of 294 strokes. Host Defiance College (Ohio) finished in fourth, but only one stroke ahead of Trine, with 310 strokes.
The low score for the Thunder was posted by Nick Knowlton. He finished with 74 strokes which was good enough for him to tie for eighth as an individual at the event. Nick Jasiak finished the round with 77 strokes to finish tied for 16th as an individual. Spencer Graf was third on the team with 78 strokes. Either Matt Beeman or Austin Miller rounded out the scoring for Trine as both finished with 82 strokes on the day.
The Thunder will head out on the links again tomorrow, Sept. 25, when they compete in the third MIAA Jamboree of the season hosted by Hope College.
