Men's Golf Finishes Second at Lourdes

TOLEDO, OHIO -- The Trine University men's golf team came away with a second place finish at today's Lourdes Spring Invitational with a team score of 314 strokes.

The Thunder came in just one stroke behind Cleary University who would be the eventual winners of the invitational.

Sophomore Grant McKay (Las Vegas, Nev. / Coronado) led the way for Trine finishing the event with a three-over par 74. The score was good enough for McKay to finish the tournament second as an individual.

Coming in second for the Thunder was sophomore Austin Miller (Kokomo, Ind. / Northwestern) who finished with 79 strokes. Freshman Carlos Coeto (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) came in with 80 strokes while sophomore Jackson Tucker (Matthews, N.C. / Avon Old Farms) rounded out the card for Trine with 81 strokes. Freshman Nicklaus Jasiak (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Schoolcraft) was the final Thunder golfer to compete, he finished the event with 83 strokes.

Trine will next take the links when they travel to the Calvin Invitational on Tuesday, April 17. The event will be played at Pilgrim's Run Golf Course in Pierson, Mich. with a shotgun start scheduled for noon.
