Men's Golf Finishes as Runners-Up at Lourdes Invitational

OTTAWA LAKE, MICH.  --  The Trine University men's golf team continued its momentum of its last two events with a second-place finish at the Gray Wolf Invitational hosted by Lourdes (Ohio) University at The Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, Mich.

The Thunder ended the day with an overall team score of 325 strokes to finish second of nine teams.  Cleary (Mich.) University won the event with 316 strokes and Siena Heights (Mich.) University was third at 328 strokes.

Sophomore Carlos Coeto (Bernardo, Mexico) led Trine individually with an 18-hole total of 76 strokes and placed in a tie for second overall among a field of 50 golfers.  Fellow sophomore Jeffery Uhls (Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville) was second on the team, and tied for ninth, with a score of 81 strokes.

Sophomore Cameron Ruge (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) shot a round of 83 strokes to tie for 16th overall and freshman Jacob Black (Defiance, Ohio/Trinity) was two strokes back of Ruge with an 85 which tied him for 19th.

Senior Spencer Graf (Granger, Ind./Penn) rounded out the Trine competitors and ended the afternoon with a round of 89 strokes and placed in a tie for 34th.

Trine is scheduled to compete in the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association qualifier event of the spring on Saturday, Apr. 20 at Watermark Country Club in Forest Hills, Mich.  The day is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
