FREELAND, Mich. – Mark Civanich [Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso] on the Trine University men's golf team was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday after securing a team win over Oglethorpe University last Thursday at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Georgia.
Civanich turned in a team-low score of 73 to lead the charge for the Thunder. He had birdies on holes 6 and 18. Trine was able to knock off the Stormy Petrels by one stroke, 306-305.
Up next, the Thunder men will compete at The Trophy Club in Lebanon, Indiana on March 26-27 for the two-day Great Lakes Invitational.
