Ten in Action for Trine Men's Golf at Steven Tyler Memorial

PORTAGE, Mich. – The Trine University men's golf team sent 10 student-athletes to the Steven Tyler Memorial on Monday afternoon. The Trine B-team was able to take third place to lead the Thunder.

Juniors Charlie Eriksen [Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Cranbrook Kingswood] and Nick Phillips [Yorktown, Ind. / Mincie Central] tied for the team's lowest score at 79. Eriksen hit for par on every back nine hole while Phillips hit for a birdie on the par-4 11th hole.

Just one stroke back of those two was sophomore Carter Rang [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Concordia Lutheran]. His 80 was highlighted with a birdie on the par-4 10th hole. Freshman Kyler Rod [Jackson, Mich. / Hanover Horton] finished the day with an 82 and freshman Nathaniel Acres [Fishers, Ind. / Fishers] fired an 86.

Freshman Ryan Gienger [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] led a second Thunder team with an 81. Senior Justin Glessner [Shelbyville, Ind. / Shelbyville] and freshman Colin Crumrine [Newark, Ohio / Newark Catholic] were also in the mix at 82 and 86. Junior Sean Hogan [Goshen, Ind. / NorthWood] and senior Thomas Stoner [Gosport, Ind. / Owen Valley] rounded out the team at 94 and 105.
