DULUTH, Ga. – The Trine University men's golf team opened the 2023 spring slate on Thursday afternoon at Berkeley Hills Country Club. The Thunder faced Oglethorpe University head-to-head and won 313-325.
Junior Mark Civanich had the lowest score of the day at 74. He was 1-under on the front after hitting for birdie on the par-5 third hole. Just one stroke back from Civanich was senior Charlie Eriksen. Eriksen had two birdies on the front to highlight his round of 75.
Freshman Carter Schnipke (80) senior Mitch Lowney (84) and junior Carter Rang (85) completed scoring members of the team. Sophomore Kyler Rod competed as an individual and shot a round of 87.
The road to a potential NCAA Championship berth continues on April 4 when Trine hosts the Brit-Thunder Cup at Zollner Golf Course.
