Trine Hunting for Second Event Win of the Season after Strong First Round at Adrian

TECUMSEH, Mich. – After round one of the Irish Hills Invitational hosted by the Adrian College Bulldogs, the Trine University men's golf team is third with a team score of 303. Calvin University and Cornerstone University currently share the top spot in the team standings with a combined score of 300 among their top four golfers.

Coming off of his individual medalist at the Ken Venturi Invitational, senior Mark Civanich is pacing the Thunder with a score of 74 (2-over). He is currently tied for fourth on the playerboard. Just outside the top-10 is Asher Caldwell. The sophomore is sitting in a tie for 13th after firing a 76 on Friday afternoon. Also in that tie is sophomore Wade Shafer with a 76.

Senior Charlie Eriksen (77) is the final scoring member for the team in a tie for 20th with a 77. Sophomore Carter Schnipke is the final member of the lead team for Trine as he shot a 78 to be tied for 23rd overall. The group was very consistent throughout the round and look for continued success tomorrow.

15 men in total were in action at the event, and some of the top performers outside of the A-team were junior Nick Coccaro (78), sophomore Corbin Renihan (78), junior Colin Crumrine (79) and junior Trevor Vietti (80).
