JACKSON, Mich. – In the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #1 at Cascades Golf Course, the Trine University men's golf team finished in a tie for first place as a team with Calvin University. Both schools fired rounds of 291 on Tuesday to take the early advantage in the league standings.

Seniors Charlie Eriksen and Mark Civanich were also inside the top-10 to help the team remain atop the scoreboard. Eriksen tied his career-low with a round of 72 for even par while Civanich was one stroke back at 73. Eriksen tied for fourth overall and Civanich was tied for eighth.

The pair of junior Wade Shafer and sophomore Carter Schnipke tied for 12th in the first conference event after scoring dueling 75's on Tuesday to complete the team scoring. As an individual, junior Kyler Rod fired an 80 (tied for 25th).

The men's golf team will take the weekend off before competing in MIAA Jamboree #2 on Monday, September 25 at Muskegon Country Club.
