Thunder Tie for Second at Final MIAA Jamboree Event of the Fall

MARSHALL, Mich. – At the final Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree of the fall season, the Trine University men's golf team tied for second out of the eight teams in action on Wednesday at The Medalist Golf Club.

Hope College will take a 16-stroke lead into the MIAA Championships thanks to a score of 299. The extended their lead by four over Calvin University and Trine on the day after the two fired dueling scores of 303.

Mark Civanich placed third on the day at even-par 72. After three holes of double bogey or worse, he was able to get the strokes back with eight birdies, including six out of seven holes from 5-10. Colin Crumrine was also a top-10 finisher in a tie for sixth place. Crumrine shot a 75 with two birdies and 12 total pars.

Other members of the scoring team for the Thunder included Carter Schnipke with a 77 (T-12th), Asher Caldwell with a 79 (T-21st) and Charlie Eriksen with an 82 (T-29th). Individual scorers for Trine were Kyler Rod at 80 (T-25th) and Joe Hawk at 81 (T-27th).

The final event of the fall for Trine men's golf is the Region V Preview at Warren Golf Course at the University of Notre Dame on October 23 and 24.
