JACKSON, Mich. – At the 2024 Brit-Thunder Cup, the Trine University men's golf team came up short by a score of 30-25 to the Albion College Britons in their annual match play event.

Senior Mark Civanich played even in the first matchup of the day. He and his opponent each scored five points. Four of the holes Civanich won were on the front nine.

The lone Trine student-athlete to win outright was sophomore Carter Schnipke. He won his pairing 6-5 with four hole wins on the back nine.

Senior Charlie Eriksen won holes 2-5, but ultimately fell in his matchup by a score of 7-6.

Senior Joe Hawk went on a run by securing holes 9, 11, 13 and 14, but the final four holes on the course went to the Britons in a 7-5 loss.

Albion would take the final pairing for the men featuring senior Carter Rang by a score of 6-3. Holes 6, 9 and 16 were won by Rang.

It is a quick turnaround for the team as they compete at the Lourdes Invitational at The Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, Michigan on Tuesday, April 9.
