Thunder Conquer All at Lourdes Invitational

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. – The Trine University men's golf team was victorious at the Lourdes Invitational at The Legacy Golf Course on Tuesday in a field over 13 teams. The Thunder fired a 299 on the afternoon, beating second-place Siena Heights University by nine strokes.

Carter Schnipke was named to the All-Tournament Team after carding an even par 72. He was in second-place on the player leaderboard. The sophomore went four-under on the back nine with birdies on holes 11, 13, 14 and 18.

Mark Civanich finished in a tie for fourth after shooting a 75. He had two birdies on the front nine and went one-under before making the turn.

The duo of Kyler Rod and Charlie Eriksen were tied for eighth after both secured rounds of 76. Rod had three birdies on the day, including two on par-5 holes. Eriksen had an up-and-down day but led the squad with five birdies. He had a string of three birdies in four holes on 4-7. Three of the four par-5 holes were birdies for the senior.

The final scoring member for Trine was Asher Caldwell. The sophomore had a round of 78 with birdies on holes 3 and 11 (both par-5's) to tie for 20th. Wade Shafer led the B-team for the Thunder with a score of 80 (tied for 33rd).

Trine competes in the AC Eddy Invitational at Zollner Golf Course on Tuesday, April 16 beginning at 1 p.m.
