Thunder hold #1 Knights Scoreless for Two but Fall, 3-0

DE PERE, WISC. -- The Trine men's NCAA hockey team held nationally-second-ranked St. Norbert College scoreless for the first two periods but gave up three in the third to lose by the score of 3-0.

Sophomore Brett Young (Livonia, Mich.) got the start in net for the Thunder and would finish the night with 36 saves. For the first two periods, he was perfect keeping the Knights off the board.

A late penalty in the second period against Trine gave St. Norbert the man advantage to start the third period. Upon returning to the ice, the Knights made quick use of the power play scoring the first goal of the contest for the 1-0 lead. Less than two minutes later they would add an even-strength goal and in the final minutes of the contest they would finish off the scoring with another power-play goal for the 3-0 win.

The Thunder had offensive opportunities throughout the night as well, finishing the game with 22 shots of their own, but were unable to capitalize.

Trine will continue its weekend road trip tomorrow, Nov. 11 when they face Finlandia University for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
