Men's NCAA Hockey Finalize Schedule

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's NCAA hockey team has released its 2018-19 schedule.

Highlighting the schedule are matchups against four NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship participating teams. Three of those opponents come from the ranks of Trine's own conference, the Northern Collegiate Athletic Association (NCHA), including Marian University, quarter-finalist Adrian College and eventual national champion St. Norbert College. They will also take on Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) champion and national semi-finalist University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The Thunder begin the season with a grueling stretch where they face off with such teams in five of their first eight games.

The team starts the season with a trip to Wisconsin where they will take on a pair of WIAC foes in University of Wisconsin-Stout and Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The two games are a rematch of last season's opening weekend where Trine came up just one goal short in each game.

Trine's other non-conference competition will come in December and January. The team will have rematch doubleheaders against both Chatham University and King's (Pa.) College. Last season the Thunder swept the two Pennsylvania teams and will look to do so again this season. Their final out of conference contest comes against SUNY Canton, which will travel to face Trine on Saturday, December 29.

The Thunder will open the home portion of their season with a home NCHA doubleheader taking on Marian on Friday, November 2 and Lawrence University on Saturday, November 3.
