BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For the second week in a row, a Trine University men's hockey defender has been named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week. This week sophomore Blake Robertson (South Lyon, Mich.) gets the nod, the first of his career and second of for the program.
Robertson led the way for the Thunder offensively in the team's sweep of visiting King's (Pa.) College. On Friday, he iced the game scoring the team's fifth goal of the game in the 19th minute of the final period as the team won 5-1.
On Saturday, he assisted on the team's first goal, which would end up being the game-winner. He then helped put the game out of reach tallying two of the team's three goals in the second period as the Thunder went on to win 5-0.
Defensively, Robertson anchored an effort which held the Monarchs to just 31 shots for the weekend.
Trine currently sit at 6-8-1 overall following the weekend sweep. The team returns to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) by traveling to face Aurora University today, Friday, Jan. 12. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:50 p.m. CST.
