Thunder Cut Down by Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Trine University men's hockey team will return home with a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) split following a 4-1 loss at Lake Forest College.

The Foresters scored the lone goals of both of the first two periods to bring a 2-0 lead into the third period. They then stretched that lead to 4-0 with a goal in the 11th and 12th minutes of the final stanza.

Sophomore defender Blake Robertson (South Lyon, Mich.) scored the Thunder's lone goal of the contest in the 15th minute of the third period to cap off a successful power play opportunity. Sophomore Josh Hinderliter (Wyandotte, Mich.) and freshman Brent Jones (Brighton, Mich.) added assists on the goal.

Junior Brent Young (Livonia, Mich.) played the game in net for the Thunder and finished the contest with 20 saves.

Trine falls to 7-9-1 overall and 3-7 in the NCHA following the loss. They will take the ice again when they host Concordia University Wisconsin on Friday, Jan. 18 with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
