Men's Hockey Draws with MSOE

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Trine University men's hockey and their hosts from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) both only scored in the first period and the game would end in a 1-1 tie.

The Raiders struck first in the contest, taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of the first period.

The Thunder would respond with their own goal in the 13th minute. Freshman Justin Meers (St. Charles, Mo.) tallied the goal, his third of the season. Classmate Brendan Prappas (West Bloomfield, Mich.) added an assist.

Neither team was able to break the tie in regulation or the overtime period and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

After allowing the goal in the first, senior Brett Young (Livonia, Mich.) finished the contest with 24 saves to pick up the tie in net for the Thunder.

Trine comes away from the contest with an 11-8-3 overall record while going 9-5-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. They will face off with MSOE again tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 8. The game is set to start at 5 p.m. CST.
