Nationally-Ranked Bulldogs Too Much for Men's Hockey

ANGOLA, Ind. -- Visiting nationally-ranked Adrian College was too much for the Trine University men's hockey as the Thunder were defeated 7-0.

Despite the lopsided final score, the Thunder played a close contest through the first half of the game. In the first period, the team allowed just one goal to the Bulldogs and then kept it close through the first 15 minutes of the second period. The Thunder kept the shot totals close through the majority of that time period, only falling behind in the final 25 minutes of the game.

Adrian took a 3-0 lead in the 16th minute of the second period scoring two goals in 35 seconds. They then closed the door in the third with four goals to win 7-0.

The Thunder fall to 12-9-3 overall and 10-6-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. The team's seeding in the Harris Cup Playoffs has still not been decided and will come down to tomorrow's results. Trine will take on Adrian again tomorrow, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. to finish the regular season.
