Men's Hockey Falls to Plymouth State

UTICA, N.Y. – The Trine University men's hockey team fell to Plymouth State University by the score of 1-0 in their second day of competition in New York. The game was a neutral site contest hosted by Utica College.

Neither team would score in the first period, but the Thunder seemed to have an edge on the offensive side of the ice outshooting the opposition 13-10.

The Panthers found the back of the net 12:02 into the second period to take the 1-0 lead. It ended up being the lone goal of the game despite Trine applying ample pressure on the offensive end of the ice. All told they would outshoot Plymouth State 38-25.

Sophomore Cristian Wong-Ramos once again played a strong game in net for the team. He finished with 24 saves, despite allowing the lone goal.

Offensively sophomore Drew Welsch led the team with six shots on goal with senior Garrett Hallford finishing with five.

The Thunder fall to 4-5-1 overall following the loss. They will return to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play in their next contest. The first game of the weekend doubleheader against Marian (Wis.) University is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Friday, December 2.
