DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Trine University men's hockey team secured their third-straight victory by defeating the University of Dubuque in both teams' Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) opener. The Thunder scored a pair of goals in the first and third periods to win 4-0.

Freshman Michael DiPietra accounted for both goals in the first period. The first came on the power play in the seventh minute of the stanza. Bobby Price and Matteo Ybarra both added assists on the tally.

DiPietra's second came at even strength with just over five minutes remaining before intermission. Price added his second assist of the night while Tim Organ tallied his first.

Neither team scored in the second period sending the game to the second intermission with Trine still leading 2-0.

Organ opened the scoring in the third with Price recording his third assist of the game. The goal came in the fourth minute.

Just two minutes later the Thunder overcame their own penalty to score the shorthanded goal and take their final 4-0 lead. Sam Antenucci scored the attempt with Sam Henry adding an assist after causing the turnover on the play.

Kyle Kozma made his second start of the season in net and finished with his second shutout victory. He made 18 saves in the contest.

The Thunder improve to 3-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in NCHA play following the lopsided victory. They will face off with Dubuque for a second time tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 4. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT.
