Thunder Secure Sweep of Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Trine University men's hockey team remained undefeated on the season after defeating the University of Dubuque by the score of 5-1.

The team relied on a big second period that saw the Thunder score four goals to build the commanding lead. The offensive success was paced by a pair of skaters posting three-point performances. Both Tim Organ and Sam Antenucci finished the day with a goal and two assists.

Trine scored the lone goal of the first period in the 13th minute of play. Tyler Blanchard scored the goal, his second of the season. Josh Wright and Organ added assists.

Organ opened the scoring in the second, tallying what would end up being the game winner after 38 seconds of play. Antenucci and Sean Henry added assists on the tally. The Thunder added three more goals in the second half of the stanza to build the 5-0 lead. Jack Cooper, Antenucci and Henry all scored during the stretch.

The Spartans scored their lone goal of the game in the third period to cut the lead to four at the final score of 5-1.

Kyle Kozma played the game in net for Trine and finished the game with 13 saves, allowing just the one goal.

The Thunder improve to 4-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the victory. They will continue their season when they host St. Norbert College for a pair of contests beginning on Friday, November 10. Opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
