Men's Hockey Enters National Poll

EXCELSIOR, Minn. – The Trine University men's hockey team entered the USCHO.com NCAA Division III national poll in the 14th spot, the highest ranking in program history.

The Thunder made their first appearance in the poll near the end of the last season as the 15th team. After starting this season in the receiving votes category, the team earned 40 points in the latest edition of the poll jumping to 14th. Adrian College is the only other Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) to be ranked sitting at fourth, St. Norbert College and Aurora University are both receiving votes.

Trine picked up a pair of wins over the weekend to improve to 7-1-0 overall and 5-1-0 in NCHA play. On Friday they won a lopsided affair against their hosts from Lake Forest before heading to overtime for a second win on Saturday.

The team is set to travel to Canton, N.Y. for their next pair of contests. They begin the two-day tournament against the hosts from SUNY Canton on Saturday, November 25. That game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
