Thunder Split Weekend at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Trine University men's hockey team return home with a split after dropping game two of the weekend doubleheader against Hamilton College, falling today by the score of 4-0.

The Thunder outshot the Continentals in both the first and second period, but the home team notched three goals while the Trine was held scoreless. The third period ended up favoring Hamilton and evened out the total with both teams ending the game with 32 shots on goal.

The Thunder pulled their goalie in the final minutes in a last-ditch attempt to cut into the 3-0 deficit. It ended up going against them with the Continentals scoring an empty net goal to give the game its final 4-0 score.

Freshman Michael DiPietra led the way offensively for Trine tallying six shots on goal. Bobby Price finished second on the team with four shots.

In goal, Kyle Kozma finished the game with 28 saves while allowing three goals.

Trine falls to 11-3-0 overall following the loss. They will return home for their next contest when they host Adrian College on Friday, January 5. That game is set to start at 7 p.m.
