Brits Snap Trine Win-Streak

ANGOLA, IND.-- Albion snapped a four-game win-streak for Trine's men's lacrosse team with a 20-3 victory over the Thunder Tuesday evening in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.

The Brits scored eight goals in a 3:41 span as part of a 10-goal run to start the game and put things away early. Cameron Braun led the way with three goals and two assists for a five-point night. Tim Urso and Daniel Kaminski each added three goals for Albion. The Brits outshot Trine by a 40-23 margin. Patrick Walker (Round Lake Park, Ill./Grayslake North) notched a goal and an assist to lead the Thunder. Trine falls to 4-9 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA. Albion is 9-3 overall, 3-0 in conference play.

Albion scored five goals in the final 2:12 of the first quarter and added three tallies in the first 1:29 of the second to put the game out of reach. Seven different Brits scored during that span, with Domonic Hamper's two goals leading the way. Albion scored the first 10 goals of the game.

Andrew Walters (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) and George Youpel (Chicago Ridge, Ill./St. Rita) each added goals for the Thunder. Kyle Formanczyk stopped 12-of-15 Trine shots on goal to earn the win in net for Albion.

Trine can clinch a spot in the MIAA Semifinals with one more conference victory. The Thunder will host Adrian this Saturday, Apr. 19 at 1:00 p.m.
