COLORADO SPRINGS-- Trine was unable to overcome a swarming Colorado College attack, as the Thunder fell to the Tigers 19-5 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at Washburn Field.

Six players notched multi-goal efforts to lead Colorado College to the victory. Henri Halle and Taylor Paul each scored three goals to pace the Tigers. Paul Carlquist (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) turned in a solid offensive effort to pace the Trine attack, scoring three goals and adding an assist. CC outshout the Thunder by a 51-26 margin and won 19-of-24 faceoffs to consistently establish offensive control. Trine falls to 0-2 on the season. Colorado College improves to 4-1.

G.T. Youpel (Chicago Ridge, Ill./St. Rita) got the Thunder on the board in the first quarter off a pass from Carlquist. Halle and Robert Prior each scored two goals in the opening stanza for the Tigers.

Colorado College outscored the Thunder 7-1 again the second quarter to open up a 12-point halftime lead. Paul scored two of his goals during the second quarter. Carlquist notched his first tally of the game, getting off an underhand shot in traffic to beat the goalkeeper.

Carlquist scored his second goal of the game in the third. The junior made a one-on-one move in from the right wing and scored from a tough angle. Carlquist's final goal came in the fourth quarter as he worked his way back from out behind the goal and found the back of the net with the shot.

Jake Ahearn (Naperville, Ill./Naperville) added Trine's final goal, splitting a pair of defenders from the left wing to get off a shot from the middle.
