ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University sophomore men's lacrosse goalkeeper Joseph Steigmeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Defenseman of the Week."
The Thunder started the 2018 season with a win against Wabash College this past Saturday (Feb. 17), 16-6, in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Steigmeyer helped the team to a victory with a solid effort in net. He played a total of 56:15 and had 11 saves. He was also credited with the win to begin the season with a 1-0 mark. In additon, Steigmeyer tallied five ground balls.
Trine will next travel to Cincinnati, Ohio for a matchup against Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, Feb. 24. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
