ANGOLA, IND. -- Senior Trine University men's lacrosse player Nick Maher (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt) has been selected as this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Offensive Player of the Week."
Maher helped the Thunder improve to 2-0 for the season with a 24-6 win against Mount St. Joseph University on Sunday (Feb. 25). He recorded an 11-point day with four goals and seven assists. Maher was one of four Trine players to finish with four goals on the afternoon. All six shots that he took were on goal and finished with a 66.7 shot percentage.
In addition, Maher had three ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers in the win against the Lions.
Trine is scheduled to take on Alfred (N.Y.) University on Monday, Mar. 5 in a neutral site game on the campus of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. EST.
