Polar Bears Ice Thunder

ADA, Ohio – The Trine University men's lacrosse team were outmatched in their contest against Ohio Northern University, falling by the score of 13-4.

From the start the home side had the advantage in the contest, scoring five goals in the first period to the Thunder's one. Patrick Doyle scored the goal for Trine with 5:27 remaining in the period.

The second quarter was much the same, with the Polar Bears scoring four goals to the Thunder's one. This time Kramer Zastrow scored for the team with an assist by Charlie Anderson. The goal came with the team a man up, the only time in the first half that they had an advantage. The home team took a 9-2 lead into halftime.

Trine scored two more goals in the game, one in each period. Peter Piccillo scored in the third with Mason Kaufmann assisting. Then in the fourth Aiden Theobald got on the board with Riley Fischer adding an assist. Ohio Northern added four goals in the second half to build the final lead of 13-4.

In net, Nick DiPaolo had a solid game despite the loss. He finished with 15 saves.

Trine falls to 3-2 following the loss. They will hit the road again on Saturday, March 9 when they travel to face DePauw University for a 1 p.m. contest. Last season when the two teams met, the Thunder won a hard fought game by the score of 8-6.
