ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine men's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2014 season, the team announced Thursday.
The 20-game regular-season slate features nine home contests. The Thunder open the regular-season with a trip to the New York City area, where Trine will face New Jersey City College Aug. 30. While in the area, the Thunder will also face the College of Staten Island on Labor Day, Sep. 1. Last season, TU finished 3-14-2 overall and in eighth in the MIAA. The bulk of last season's young squad is expected to return, as the Thunder lost just three starters to graduation.
After opening the season on the east coast, Trine will return to the midwest for a tournament at Franklin College. The Thunder will face Franklin and Transylvania in the tournament.
Trine will also host the Ketner Classic Sep. 12-13 as part of the non-conference slate. The Thunder are set to face Defiance and Manchester in the Classic, which wraps up the non-conference season.
The conference slate opens with a home match against Hope on Sep. 17. The MIAA schedule features home and away matches with every conference team. MIAA play closes Nov. 1 with a trip to Albion.
