ANGOLA, IND.-- No. 7 Calvin earned their 14th-consecutive victory, shutting out Trine 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Weaver Field.

The Knights got goals from Travis Vegter, Stephan Hooker and Sean Broekhuizen to pace the attack. Niko Giantsopolous made one save in net to earn the shutout. Calvin has now outscored their opponents 56-8 on the season. The Knights outshot Trine by a 26-2 margin. The Thunder fall to 5-12-1 on the season. Calvin improves to 15-2 overall and remains unbeaten at 12-0 in conference matches.

Vegter scored his MIAA-leading 20th goal of the season at the 21:13 mark of the contest. Mitch Stark picked up the assist. Hooker added his 10th goal of gthe season just over 12-minutes later to give the Knights a two-goal cushion going into the half. Sam Hanover picked up the assist on Hooker's tally.

Broekhuizen's goal came with just over 12 minutes remaining in the contest, with Reed Bowden picking up the assist.

Chris Stewart (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) made seven saves for Trine.

The Thunder play their final home match of the season this Wednesday, Oct. 29 when they host Kalamazoo at 4 p.m. at Weaver Field.
