Thunder Close Season with Loss to Albion

ALBION, MICH.-- Trine closed out the 2014 season with a 4-1 loss to Albion Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Kyle Alsheskie and Evan Schweizer led the way with four-point nights for the Britons. Schweizer scored two goals, while Alsheskie scored a goal and added two assists. Alsheskie is the second-leading scorer in the MIAA. Karston Shephard (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) scored the Trine goal. The Thunder conclude the season 5-14-1 overall and 2-12 in conference matches. The Britons conclude the season 8-11 overall, 6-8 in the MIAA.

Alsheskie found Schweizer for the first goal of the contest at the 4:06 mark. Alsheskie picked up his second assist on a Mike Tolkacz tally just under 20 minutes into the match to give Albion a 2-0 lead.

Shephard scored his second goal of the season to cut the score to 2-1 just over five minutes into the second half. The senior concludes his career at Trine ranked second in assists in the Division III era with 13.

Alsheskie and Schweizer each added goals in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Chris Stewart (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) made six saves to finish his career as the all-time leader in saves at Trine in the Division III era. Stewart concludes his career with 290 saves.

Zach Haapala made three saves to earn the victory for the Britons.
