Men's Soccer Opens Season with Loss at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind.—The Trine men's soccer team opened its season with a loss at Anderson on Friday night by a score of 3-1.

Anderson's Jacob Pokorski scored two goals in the first half to give his team the lead and assisted on their third goal of the game off the foot of Nick Martin.

Trine's Christhian De La Paz (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) scored at 70:23 in the second half unassisted to put the Thunder on the board.

Senior goalie Ian Jindrich (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) played the first 17 minutes of the game allowing two goals. Junior tender William Macedo (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) played the remainder making three saves and allowed one goal. Trine totaled seven shots on goal, with Bill Wilson (Mason, Mich.) leading the team with three.

Trine will continue road action on Saturday when it will take on Earlham at 3 p.m.
