Transylvania Slides Past Men's Soccer

LEXINGTON, Kent.—The Trine men's soccer team lost its first game of the Transylvania University Tournament to host Transylvania, 2-0, on Friday night.

Transylvania scored one goal in each half to secure the victory. The Pios improve to 2-0-1, while the Thunder moves to 0-3-1.

In the first half, Jason Murillo scored for Transylvania off a pass from Alex Shkraba at 8:58. In the second, Riley Calhoon scored an unassisted goal at 62:34.

Goaltender Ian Jindrich (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) had five saves in the loss for the Thunder. Chandler Gaunce picked up the win with two saves. Transylvania outshot Trine, 25-8.  Bill Wilson (Mason, Mich./Mason) led the Thunder offense with four shots on goal.

The Thunder will conclude play at the Transylvania University Tournament on Sunday when it will take on Franklin at 2:30 p.m.
