Men's Soccer Deadlocks with Olivet

OLIVET, Mich.—The Trine men's soccer team deadlocked with Olivet 4-4 on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunder went up 3-1 in the first half off two goals by Kyle Wainscott (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) and one from Mason Pelphrey (Portsmouth, Ohio/Clay).

In the second half, Olivet's Matthew Henderson came within a goal scoring off an assist from Courtney Skerritt.

At 68:07 Bill Wilson (Mason, Mich./Mason) scored unassisted to put the Thunder up by two once again.

The Thunder was looking for its first win of the season, but the Comets' ruined their hopes scoring two unanswered goals late in regulation.

Neither team scored in overtime.

Wainscott led the Thunder with five shots including three on goal.

Ian Jindrich (Aurora, Ill./Matea Valley) played 34 minutes for the Thunder allowing one goal. William Macedo (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) played 75 minutes allowing three goals and making two saves.

Gregory Petty led the Comets' offense with three shots, while David Magallon had two. Nathan Weeks was in net for Olivet making three saves.

Trine led in corner kicks with eight to Olivet's one. Trine had 10 fouls to the Comet's seven.
