Two Late Goals Give Thunder Win Against Earlham

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's soccer team scored a pair of late goals in the second half to come away with a 2-0 win against Earlham College at Weaver Field in Angola, Ind.

Trine (4-1) outshot Earlham (1-2), 18-1, in the game, but neither team recorded a goal until the 70:31 minute mark when sophomore Nooh Aljabaly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) put the Thunder on the scoreboard with a successful penalty shot.

About 13 minutes later, Trine added an insurance goal that came off the foot of sophomore Alex Jasper (Niles, Mich./Niles) during the 84th minute that increased the margin to 2-0.

The Quakers didn't post their first shot of the game until a little past the midway point of the second period.  Trine goalkeeper, Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester) kept the only shot he faced from getting by as the Thunder went on to claim the 2-0 shutout.

Medina played all 90 minutes in net for Trine and claimed his fourth win of the season as well as his second shutout victory.

Trine is scheduled to host Bluffton University on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Weaver Field.  The non-conference matchup is set to begin at 2 p.m.
