Trine's Unbeaten Streak Grows to Seven Games With Win Against Albion

ALBION, MICH.  --  The Trine University men's soccer team has posted a 6-0-1 record in its last seven games thanks to a 2-0 win against Albion (Mich.) College in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener in Albion, Mich.

Following a scoreless first half, Trine (8-1-1, 1-0 MIAA) scored both of its goals in period number two beginning with a goal from sophomore Nooh Aljabaly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) about 13-and-a-half minutes into the period at the 58:20 minute mark.

The lead remained a goal for the Thunder until inside the 10-minute mark when an insurance goal by freshman Connor Malmquist (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) who put a shot past the Albion (5-3-2, 0-1 MIAA) goalkeeper during the 82nd minute made the score, 2-0.

Trine freshman goalkeeper Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester) faced just two shots on goal in 90 minutes, but came up with the save on both Albion scoring attempts to preserve his third shutout victory of the season with a final score of 2-0.

Trine is scheduled to host Calvin (Mich.) College on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Weaver Field in a MIAA matchup.  The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
