Aljabaly Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University men's soccer player, Nooh Aljabaly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive "Player of the Week."

Aljabaly helped lead the Thunder to a pair of shutouts this past week that included a 3-0 win against Kalamazoo (Mich.) College and 5-0 victory against Olivet (Mich.) College to improve Trine's record to 10-2-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA.  The Thunder's 10-win season is their first since the 2011 season when Trine posted a 13-5-2 overall mark.

Individually, Aljabaly scored a total of five goals and assisted on another for 11 total points.  He scored two of his goals for the week in the win against the Hornets and then followed that with a hat trick against the Comets over the weekend.

For the season, Aljabaly has tallied a team-leading 16 goals and four assists for a team-best 36 points.  His 16 goals and 36 points also lead the conference.  In addition, he currently has a .302 shot percentage with 53 shots taken.

Trine will host Adrian (Mich.) College in a MIAA contest on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Weaver Field.  The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
