Men's Soccer Falls Short of Adrian

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's soccer team was held scoreless in a 2-0 decision against Adrian (Mich.) College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action at Weaver Field in Angola, Ind.

Adrian (7-6, 4-1 MIAA) grabbed the early lead with a goal just 1:50 into the first half to make the score 1-0.  Trine (10-3-1, 3-2 MIAA) picked up its game offensively following the Bulldog score and ended up outshooting its opponents, 8-4, in the period, but could not net a possible game-tying goal before the half expired, leaving the deficit at a goal at the break.

The second half saw Adrian add to its lead off of a free-kick opportunity that found the back of the net during the 53rd minute to increase the margin to 2-0.  The extra goal created the breathing room the Bulldogs needed and secured the victory en route to the 2-0 final.

In goal for Trine, freshman Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester) played all 90 minutes and had one save.

The Thunder will host their final regular-season home game on Saturday, Oct. 20 against Hope (Mich.) College.  The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. at Weaver Field.
