Late Goal Gives Thunder Win Against Little Giants

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Senior Trine University men's soccer player, Nooh Aljabaly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), scored the go-ahead goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation which led to the Thunder posting a 1-0 win against Wabash College in non-conference action at Weaver Field in Angola, Ind.

Following a scoreless first half in a physical back-and-forth affair, both teams looked to be headed to overtime as the game remained deadlocked at 0-0 heading into the final minute of the second half.  Aljabaly then found the back of the net off of a pass by freshman Cedric Carbajal (El Paso, Texas/Bel Air) at the 89:01 minute mark to put the Thunder (3-1) ahead, 1-0.

Wabash (3-3) got the ball into its offensive zone in the final seconds, but could not tally a game-tying goal giving the win to Trine by the one-score final.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester) made two saves in 90 minutes of action to come away with the victory and improve to 3-1 for the season.

Trine will host St. Francis (Ind.) University on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. at Weaver Field.
