Men's Soccer Defeated by Webster in Overtime

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's soccer team suffered a hard fought loss, 1-0, in double overtime against Webster (Mo.) University in a non-conference game at Fred Zollner Stadium in Angola, Ind.

Neither team could find the back of the net after 90 minutes of regulation, forcing overtime.

Webster (6-2-1) had a slight edge in shots taken in the first half against Trine (3-4), 3-2, but the game remained a scoreless tie after the first overtime.  In the second overtime, the teams looked to be headed to a possible tie until late in the period when the Gorloks gained control of a loose ball and flipped it over the Thunder defense to an open player that was able to get a shot into the net to clinch the 1-0 victory.

Trine's goalkeeper, sophomore Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester), played the entire game and gave up just the lone goal to go along with six saves on the afternoon on seven shots faced.

Trine is scheduled to take on Indiana University-Northwest on Friday, Oct. 4 at Weaver Field.  Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
